Master sports physiotherapist, Justin McEvoy has been busy at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney assisting some of the best equestrian riders compete. Justin was at Sydney Royal Easter Show with a number of Physiohealth clients who compete at the highest level of equestrian show horse riding.
Rebecca Farrow was awarded Australian National Champion Lady Rider, for the second time and achieved this under difficult circumstances as she has serious soft tissue injuries which can now be attended too as the horse riding season is over.
Rebecca Cox produced her beautiful pony for a number of classes and was second in the open pony 12 hands and under.
Clint Bilson rode well on a beautiful but fiery thoroughbred, as did Brittany Morris who was also riding under difficult circumstances after 6 weeks working as a stunt rider on the movie set for “Frontier”.
The Plumb family was very successful as usual with Heidi winning the highly coveted “Ida Buring Rhinegold perpetual Trophy for Ladies Turnout”.
Rose McEvoy was successful winning the “Novice Lady Rider” competing at this level for the first time. Lillian McEvoy won the “Mount,Rider, & Equipment” for her age and the Childs Hack which enabled her to perform on the arena with the Best Hacks in Australia for Champion Hack and performed admirably.Alice McEvoy also performed well in a number of events gaining top 5 places in Turn out, rider and child’s hack.
Justin was also asked to use his Sports Physiotherapy knowledge to assist the treatment of an injured Pony which he was happy to do although recommending the veterinary expertise of Dr Andrew Hunt, Olympic Equine Vet.
