How To – Strengthen Your Ankle After a Lateral Sprain

Cory Prout explains and demonstrates one method of strengthening the ankle after a Lateral Sprain. This particular rehab exercise is great for strengthening the peroneus muscle which is on the lateral side of the lower leg. To do this exercise you will need some Theraband... be sure to select the correct band strength best suited to your injury (see your physio for advice). How To:
  • Using the uninjured foot as an anchor, wrap the Theraband around both feet while you are lying down with your legs straight and feet together.
  • Evert the foot that is injured and hold for 3 seconds.
  • Complete 3 x 10 reps.
