Amelia’s 10km in 10 weeks – Week 6 – Maintenance & Foam Roller

Amelia is over halfway through her training program where she is training run 10km in under 50 minutes in the Melbourne Run Melbourne. She's finding she's slightly off the pace at the moment but the training is going well. Slight issues with some soreness through the inside of her shin. This is a common running injury and there are particular exercises and treatments to minimise this pain. Regular icing after running helps to control irritation and attempting to manage the tension in the calf muscles, regular massage helps with this. Calf strength is also vital in keeping the legs strong. Finally a good home habit to get into is using the foam roller. Cory takes Amelia through the correct way to use the foam roller.
